Grant brainstorm on what success looks like
Your school, your ideas: What do you want to see in the new Grant?

While construction doesn't begin until summer 2018, the dreaming begins now.

Over the coming weeks and months we will be reaching out to Grant families, staff and the community to learn about what makes your school and your community unique, and find out what things you'd like incorporated into the new building.

Grant Center for the Expressive Arts is one of 14 Tacoma schools being replaced or modernized thanks to a $500 million construction bond passed by voters in 2013.
Thanks to everyone who shared their ideas so far!
Staff from McGranahan Architects and Tacoma Public Schools Planning & Construction attended last week's fall festival at Grant to begin getting ideas from staff, kids and parents about what they want to see in the new Grant.

A Vision for the Elementary Learning Environment

Tacoma Public Schools has created guidelines for building and planning design that take the whole child into consideration. This vision includes rethinking the roles of community, safety and security, inspiration, building lifelong habits, connecting with the environment and so much more. It's about making learning right-sized and flexible, about connecting our kids with ideas.
