PRES Online Directory Launches Today
This year brings some exciting changes to how you can access the student directory.  In an effort to go green, as well as to be technologically up-to-date, the student directory is now online. The directory is password protected and only available to Parents who currently have students enrolled in PRES and to the school staff.

Click here for simple instructions on how to create your account and access the directory.

Thank you and we are sure you will find the Online Directory easy to use.
Book Fair Wrap-Up
The PRES Book Fair and Bake Sale was a huge success, thanks to all of our volunteers.  In addition to this year's committee: Stacey Cleveland, Susan Ergun, Kristen Hurwitz, Ester Tunnell, Deann Grogan and Joanna Falk, we had in excess of 43 volunteers who helped to set-up, worked registers & the bake sale, assisted our children in browsing for books, made a TON of delicious baked goods, and helped to pack it all up!  A special thank you for PRES mom, Katherine Fletcher who volunteered to read to our K-2 students on PJ, Milk & Cookies Night.

The Book Fair is an enormous undertaking, and the overwhelming amount of help made for a very smooth event.   We reached our goal in raising funds for the PTA, as well as raised over $1800 for the Help Lucas Crush Cancer Fund. Additionally, PRES parents, your generosity put over 170 titles into our teachers' classroom libraries!

It's so nice to see what we can do, when we all work together!

Halloween at PRES
On Monday, October 31st, classrooms will participate in our traditional Halloween Parade at PRES. Students are invited to wear costumes that they can easily manage themselves to school on Monday. Because we want everyone to feel both comfortable and involved, there are specific guidelines that have been set out regarding costumes.  Click here for an explanation of the day's events as well as all specifics regarding appropriate dress for school.  We look forward to a fun day for all of our students!

Senior Luncheon: Volunteers Needed
Parents, we need your help! The PTA will host Pound Ridge seniors  for lunch on Thursday, November 3.  We are looking for parents to help serve, provide food, set up and clean up.  If you are able to help, please sign-up here.  Contact Marisa Manos with any questions.  Thank you.

Pancake Breakfast Is Next Weekend
Please plan to join us for the Annual  PRES 5th Grade Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast, on Saturday, November 5 from 8:00am-12:00pm! We will be serving a variety of food, including some gluten free items.   Also, there will be arts and crafts, a  mini-carnival including a Gaga pit, bouncy house and Velcro wall, a bake sale,  and a raffle with over $7,500.00 in prizes!  This event is fun for all ages and helps our 5th graders raise money towards all of their moving up activities this year.

Thank you for your support.
Help Lucas Crush Cancer
As many of you know, PRES Kindergartener Lucas Harashima was recently diagnosed with brain cancer (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma or DIPG). PRES has just launched a school-wide community service project to collect change for "The Cure Starts Now Foundation", which provides funding for research for DIPG. Children were sent home bags in which to collect spare change around the house, all of which will be donated to "The Cure Starts Now Foundation".  PRES will be participating in this program from October 31-November 10. Lucas' Cure Starts Now Foundation Hero Page is http://thecurestartsnow.org/heroes/234/. Direct donations are accepted on this site.

You can follow Lucas' quest to crush cancer on a Facebook page set up by his family, "Lucas Harashima Cancer Crush"
On that page, they also have information on a family fundraising campaign on  youcaring.com  to assist his family during this trying time.

In addition, PRES students who are planning to attend the Scott's Corners Halloween Walk this year are invited to dress as Minions in a show of solidarity and support for Lucas and the Harashima family.   Lucas is truly "One in a Minion".

Cash Boxes Needed
The PTA is missing two cash boxes and will need them for the Pancake Breakfast on November 5.  If you have one of them in your possession from a previous fundraiser, can you kindly return it to the front office?

In the event that we cannot locate them, we may need to borrow cash boxes for that event. If you have a cash box that you could lend to the PB Committee for  November 5th, please contact Stacey Cleveland.  Thanks for your help.
BCSD Basketball Bash
Please save the date for the 2016 BCSD Basketball Bash.
Join students from all five Bedford Central elementary schools to watch the Harlem Wizards take on the All Star faculty and staff of BCSD on  December 4, 2016 at 2pm at Fox Lane High School. Playing for PRES this year will be Danarde, Steven Samaha, and Mrs. Hart. Tickets are available here .  Hope to see you there!
