SA apartment rents trending upward in face of national drop
The fall weather has put a chill on rental rates across the country, but in San Antonio, its as sunny and warm as ever.
Compared to this time last year, the average apartment rent in the city has climbed by 6.1 percent, despite flatlines or drops among half of all the rental markets surveyed in
Zumper's recent National Rent Report.
The report, which analyzed 100 markets across the United States, found its national rent index dropped for the third straight month, with one-bedroom units dipping 0.9 percent to a median of $1,126, and two-bedroom units down by 0.5 percent to $1,344.
While San Antonio's median rental rates are lower than the national average, the local market has steadily posted increases throughout the year. One-bedroom rates increased to $870 per month, and two-bedroom rates ticked up 6.7 percent to $1,110.
