NORTH POINTE ELECTS FAIRY TALE MAYOR
North Pointe Elementary held an election for the "Mayor of Fairy Tale City" for students to learn more about citizenship and the election process. The candidates were Mr. I.M. Hogg, Ms. Redda R. Hood, and Ms. Goldie Locke. Students learned about the different candidates and their platforms, and then voted for the candidate they felt would do the best job as mayor. The school modeled the election process by issuing voter registration cards, having students cast an electronic ballot, and handing out "I Voted" stickers. Superintendent Dr. Greg Smith was even in attendance to cast his vote! The new mayor of Fairy Tale City was announced as Mr. I.M. Hogg.
