Veterans Appreciation Week
The Veterans Resource Center is hosting several events in honor of Veterans Appreciation Week, Nov. 7-10. The events include an opening ceremony on the quad on Nov. 7; documentary screenings; a student-veteran forum on Nov. 8, and a celebration barbecue on Nov. 9. All of the events honor our active and veteran military service members while recognizing the specific contributions and concerns of student-veterans. For a list of events visit

Veterans Day-Campus Closed
The campus will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
People's Intervention for Liberation, Autonomy and Self Determination Summit
This is a one-day, free event at Fullerton College that will gather students, educators, organizers, activists and artists to explore this year's theme of "Salud y RevoluciĆ³n." The summit will have dialogue through workshops, poetry, music, art, and more. This summit is Friday, Nov. 18 from 9a.m. to 5 p.m.,

Beta Kappa Tau Induction Ceremony
On Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. in Building 200, Room 228 join Beta Kappa Tau for their induction ceremony which includes their Honors in Action project film screening, an expert forum by guest speakers Miguel Powers, Deidre Hughes and Tamara Trujillo, who will give a preview of future projects. Refreshments included.
Open Enrollment Has Started!
Representatives from the Orange County United Way and The G.R.E.E.N. Foundation will be on campus during the month of November to help the campus community learn and enroll in Covered California or MediCal during the Covered California enrollment period. Appointments to meet with a Certified Enrollment Counselor will be available on Nov. 8, 15, 23 and 30. Please

EIR Scoping Public Forum
The campus and community-wide Environmental Impact Report Scoping Forum is scheduled on Nov. 17 in Building 200, Rooms 224 - 228 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Invitations will be sent to the campus and mailed to the community within a one-mile radius of the campus to attend the forum for an update, open discussion and to provide feedback on the current environmental impact studies at Fullerton College.
College Highlighted at Board Meeting
On Tuesday, Nov. 22, Dr. Greg Schulz will present the college's Annual Report and Institutional Effectiveness Report to the Board of Trustees. He invites the campus community to attend as he shares highlights of the college that are the results of your efforts.
Volunteers Wanted!
The Veterans Resource Center is looking for volunteers to help with their annual Military Care Package Drive Packing Party. The packages assembled during the party will be sent to service personnel as a show of our appreciation for their service and to bring them a little holiday cheer from home! Journalism Students Recognized in State Competition
Fullerton College journalism students were recognized by the Journalism Association of Community Colleges at the annual Southern California Publications Competition held at Cerritos College. The judges rated two entries from each school that were published during the fall semester. The categories ranged from a variety of journalistic areas.

A Visit from the CSUF School of Business

Supplemental Instruction Looking for Leaders
The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program is looking to hire for the spring semester. SI leaders are successful students who plan an additional hour of collaborative activities that reinforce course content. SI is looking for leaders in the following areas: political science, calculus, statistics, chemistry, accounting, business, philosophy, economics, child development, astronomy, intro. to biology, organismal biology, and sociology as well as basic math and English classes. Avoiding Sentence Fragments
Unintentional sentence fragments are errors that can wreak havoc on college papers. For help on avoiding or fixing fragments, or strategies for writing sophisticated and grammatically attend this workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at noon in Room 808A.
How to Communicate Effectively in the Classroom
Basic Skills is hosting various student success workshops during the fall. These workshops are open to all Fullerton College students, in any discipline, and are facilitated by graduate students in the Basic Skills Graduate Student Mentorship Program. "Transitional Realities" refers to the changes in time, space, and emotions of a person, and how they allow these changes to shape and affect them. The five artists participating in this exhibition bring forth non-objective representations of their own external and internal realities.
The Fullerton College Big Band, directed by Bruce Babad, and J Train Vocal Jazz, directed by Jamie Shew, present a wonderful evening of instrumental and vocal jazz.
This concert features three award-winning instrumental jazz combos performing written and improvised jazz ranging in style from Dixieland to fusion. The ensembles are directed by Mike Scott, Dr. Joe Jewell and Bruce Babad.
Fullerton College Applied Voice students present a Fall Recital.

Football
The FC football team kept their winning-ways intact on Saturday bringing down Orange Coast College 35-14 at Costa Mesa's LeBard Stadium. The win boosts FC's overall record to 8-1 overall and to 3-1 in the Southern Conference.
Up Next: The Hornets will play Golden West College for a Southern Conference showdown at Yorba Linda High's Nathan Shapell Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
Men's Soccer
The Hornets lost a tough one to first-place Golden West College at home last Friday 1-0.
Up Next: FC will host Norco College for the final regular season game on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.
Women's Soccer
Fullerton hit the road last Friday falling to Golden West College 3-1.

Women's Volleyball
The women's volleyball suffered another loss last Friday at home against Saddleback College.

Women's Water Polo
The Hornets stunned #2 Golden West and #1 Riverside at the Orange Empire Conference Championships over the weekend taking the conference title for the second time in three years.

Men's Water Polo
The Hornets wrapped up their season over the weekend playing in the Orange Empire Conference Championships at Saddleback College. FC opened up against Saddleback on Friday and lost 10-8 in a hard-fought battle. On Saturday, Fullerton ended the season on a positive note with a big 14-5 win over Santa Ana College. The Hornets ended the 2016 season with an overall record of 12-15.
Women's Basketball
The FC women's basketball team will begin their 2016-17 campaign this Friday, Nov. 11 when they open with Santa Barbara City College at the Santa Barbara Crossover Tournament that runs November 11-12.
Men's Basketball
The Hornets began their season with a bang winning the San Diego City Tournament this past weekend. FC sophomore Johnathan Ross was the tournament MVP and sophomore Ian Fox was an All-Tournament selection.
