Kim Lomis, MD, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, will deliver the keynote address "Innovations in Assessment: Vanderbilt's Role in the International Conversation" in MCE 8380 A/B from 12 to 1 pm. This presentation will be followed by concurrent breakout sessions from 1 to 3 pm:
Session 1: Competency-Based Assessments (CBA) 101: Participants will engage in activities that promote their understanding of CBA and how to begin the process of implementing CBA using milestones/competencies and entrustable professional activities (EPA).
Session 2 : Competency-Based Assessments - Implementing and Determining Outcomes:  This session is geared toward more advanced users of CBA. Participants will identify current and best practices, highlight successful program implementations and overcoming challenges.  
The poster session will be held in Light Hall North Lobby from 3 to 4 pm. Reservations are required for the concurrent breakout sessions and the lunch lecture.

Technology in Teaching and Learning Clinic (Tech TLC) - VSTAR:
Curriculum 2.0 faculty and staff are invited to drop in and learn about using VSTAR Learn and Portfolio. Get one-on-one support with building your course in VSTAR Learn, advice on how to approach your next e-learning activity or help with the basics of assessment in VSTAR Portfolio. In some sessions you will learn specifically about grading and the gradebook in VSTAR Learn. Please bring your own laptop. OHSE Promotes Women in Medical Education
 
The Office of Health Sciences Education under the leadership of Dr. Bonnie Miller, Senior Associate Dean for Health Sciences Education, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and Executive Vice President Educational Affairs, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has successfully promoted two distinguished women in medical education.

Drs. Kim Lomis and Charlene Dewey, were promoted to full professor rank this past summer. Both hold valuable positions within medical education. Dr. Lomis is Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education within the School of Medicine and Dr. Dewey is Assistant Dean for Educator Development, Director, Educator Development Program, Co-Director, Center for Professional Health, Chair, Faculty Senate, and Chair, Faculty Physician Wellness Committee.
