Elementary/High School Call for YMCA Art Fair Entries
All high school and elementary students are invited to select one of their favorite two dimensional art projects for display. If interested, have your student drop off their artwork, labeled with their name, to Ms. Silverberg before September 29th.

Monday, September 26
This will be the first in a series of parent book club meetings discussing the books
Smart but Scattered and
Smart but Scattered Teens by Peg Dawson and Richard Guare. The book focuses on best practices for addressing executive functioning.
Here are the dates of the meetings:
September 26 - 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
November 7 - 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
February 13 - 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
These meetings frame a parent meeting with the author herself. Dr. Peg Dawson will be presenting to Cove parents on
January 12th.

High School Halloween Dance Party -

6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cove. Students are encouraged to come in costume. There will be dinner, dancing and green screen photo booth!

Halloween Activities
High School students will enjoy bagels and juice compliments of the Parent Association. High School students will be able to dress up. Costumes must be appropriate.
Elementary and Junior High students can bring their costumes to school. Students will be able to change into their costumes after lunch. Please do not include masks or anything weapon-related. We will have a parade at the school beginning at 1:30 p.m. Following the parade, Elementary and Junior High students will enjoy activities in their classrooms.

Best Resource Fair
The 13th annual BEST Resource Fair, will be held from
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Street, Skokie, IL. The Resource Fair is designed to assist students with special needs in making post-high school plans. Service providers include representatives from apprenticeship programs, employment services, government programs, health services, legal resources, recreational opportunities, referral sources, residential programs, transportation, vocational programs, and trade schools, and they will be available to distribute information and answer questions.

Career Day Volunteers Wanted!
The Cove School is looking for a few good men and women who are enthusiastic about their careers! If that is you, or you know of someone, we would like to have you speak about your career for Career Day. Our goal is to introduce and excite students about career choices.
