Empower Update
Some of our students at Pioneer Ridge are in classes using a software program called Empower. Empower is a robust student learning platform that better supports standards-based instruction, assessment, feedback and grading.
In Campus Portal, courses in Empower will have an assignment listed reminding you to view your student's progress in Empower.
In addition, the parent report in Empower is now available. To assist you with navigating through this report and Empower, we have created a series of
Empower Parent videos. You can access these videos by clicking the link, or by finding the Empower logo on the school or district Parents page.
For more information, and initial log in directions, visit the district
Connexion site and clicking on the Empower logo. After initially setting up your Empower account, you will be able to log directly into Empower at the following website:

State Honor Choir Results
Please join me in congratulating six(!) Pioneer Ridge students who made it into the 2016 ACDA-MN 7/8 State Honor Choirs! These students recorded a very rigorous two-part audition and were blindly selected among hundreds of students from all over the state. They will prepare music in advance and then rehearse and perform in a one day event November 19, 2016 in Mahtomedi, MN.

Deep Portage for 6th Grade
November 14-16 Adventures
November 16-18 Explorers
Our annual 6th grade field trip to Deep Portage is almost here. All forms and money should have been sent to your child's Advisory teacher by now.
Please note: All students need to be at school by
6:30 AM on the morning they are to leave. Please DO NOT park by the sidewalk at the back of the school. This is where we load the buses.
The packing list can be found
here on our web page. Please make sure your child is prepared for the weather conditions up north. All electronics must be labeled and stored in either their own carrying case or a Ziploc baggie. Also label sleeping bags, boots, and anything else you want to see return home! Thank you.
On the day students return, please be at school by 3:45 PM, again, do not park by the sidewalk.
It's going to be another fabulous trip and a huge Thank You to all those volunteer chaperones who are making it possible! The
Parent Chaperone meeting is on Wednesday,
November 9th at 6:00 PM in room B202.
Please note: If your child will need to take prescription medication while at Deep Portage, you must get a doctor's signature on this
medical form (also in
Spanish). This does not include EpiPens or other prescription medication taken at school, where the doctor's order has already been provided to the nurse. All medications, prescription or non-prescription, must sent with your student from home.

Check the Lost & Found by November 18th
We have many bins of lost & found items in the hallway by the Gym. Please have your child check there by Friday, November 18th. All items left after that date will be donated to a local charity.

The month of October was exciting as we celebrated Positive Attitude Month and Bully Prevention Month here at PRMS. Thank you for promoting positive school culture and climate by encouraging your child to take part of our "color" days to promote unity!
