Greetings,
Thanks for being the church in our community during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. I have heard numerous stories of how individuals followed the moving of the Holy Spirit and participated in the work of Christ.
Bob Mosty and Wayne Stockebrand helped in organizing three different shelters in the Conroe area using their Red Cross shelter training. Because of their tireless efforts, we created long term relationships with other churches in our community that will help us network quickly should another disaster of this magnitude occur.
Conan Henry took out many work teams from the Mission Depot to help those who had no church affiliation experience with gospel in action by mucking out homes and comforting those who lived in those homes.
Many of you housed friends and neighbors who faced evacuation and damage to their homes. Others helped pack up what was left after the flood waters receded. You washed and sorted clothes, bought supplies, made and delivered meals, unloaded eighteen-wheelers full of food and supplies, and were the body of Christ!
Help is still needed, so if you are interested in being a part of our email chain that receives opportunities to serve, please email me at jstilwell@fumc-conroe.org.
