Our new LAG board is hard at work to make our guild the best ever. Thanks to your responses to the recent LAG survey, here are some changes happening now:
1) Requests for more art shows: We are collaborating with the Boulder County Fairgrounds Board to take over the Art Exhibit at their annual Boulder County Fair. This is held every summer, around the first 10 days in August, and will now be featuring LAG member's art! Anyone interested in being on the committee for this fantastic new show, please contact me: smsarts@hotmail.com.
2) Requests for more variety in our monthly meetings: We have added Artist Socials every-other-month, with Art Swaps, Mini shows with prizes, raffles and hands-on activities. We will still have guest artists every-other-month, giving wonderful demonstrations.
3) Requests for better newsletters/website: We now have a new look to our LAG Newsletter, LAG Website, and LAG Facebook all thanks to Jill Rumley, our new board member who is a professional media developer. She is fantastic!
4) Requests for more LAG workshops: We will be offering a variety of workshops, some will be held at the Clover Building at the fairgrounds, and others at the artist's studio...details in our newsletters and website.
5) Requests for new venues to showcase our work: We have a few new exciting venues in the works. Watch for details in the newsletter/website and be sure to get your name on the list to be included in these venues.
Whew...I think that's a pretty good start! Please let us know your thoughts and any suggestions you may have. We are listening!

Evolutions 2017 Call for Entries
EVOLUTIONS 2017 is an open challenge to all quilters and fiber artists in celebration of yesterday's traditions as well as tomorrow's innovations. Evolution can be defined as growth-a process of continuous change, from lower to higher or from simpler to more complex. Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum challenges you to create your concept of an evolution quilt. Interpret evolutions any way you choose-on a personal level, on a global level, or perhaps related to changes and growth of your favorite means of creative expression, the quilt. There are no design restrictions. Selected quilts will be exhibited at RMQM January 28 through April 25, 2017. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second, and third place; the first place winner will be awarded a solo exhibit at RMQM in 2018.
Juror: Martha Sielman, Executive Director of Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA)
Entries will be accepted online only October 1-31, 2016. Visit www.rmqm.org for details.
