John W. Taylor, 88, of Wadsworth, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017. He was born June 27, 1929, in Lapeer, Mich. to the late Ira Ernest and Myrtle Rachel Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member of First Christian Church, was a veteran of the U.S.
Army,was retired from True Value Hardware, and was a former board member at Briarthorn Condominiums. His hobbies included Gourmet Club, snowmobiling, boating, and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Thompson, Frances Congdon; and his in-laws, Alta and Glenn Mastin and Harold Larsen.
John is survived by his wife, Anne, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage; their children, John Mark Taylor of Olympia, Wash., Jody Lynn (Oscar) Hawk of Rittman, and Jill Anne Gibson of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Patricia Ranftl, Echo (Dan) Agee, Rachel (Jeremy) Straub, John Lail, Steve (Alexa) Hawk, and Michelle Hawk; along with ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth, with Karen Rule officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the services from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Church.
Interment with military honors will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
