Breaking News - Return of the Blog!

This is new, really. For a year we ran a weekly blog at www.Hope-Heals.org, and often we'd have 10,000 hits in a single month. We stopped it for a while, but we keep getting urgent requests to resume. So the Blog has returned! You'll notice a slight change of emphasis as we seek to purpose it specifically toward prayer leaders and pastors to provide tangible resources. Check it out - we publish a new one every Tuesday.

Days of Prayer
The Pacific Union Conference is calling for a Day of Prayer on September 30 (coming up this week!). If we get this on Facebook and other social media, and send out text and email messages, more and more will be pressing together this Sabbath to pray. This is a day to thank God for His unfailing love, to ask for fervent spiritual renewal, success in witnessing, revival in our schools, and for the positive impact of our healthcare programs. Pray also for the infilling of the Holy Spirit to direct us, and for strength and the desire to continue to share God's glorious good news.

The North Pacific Union is designating October 7, 2017 as a day of prayer. They're inviting anyone and everyone from across the North American Division to join in prayer for evangelism, for the General Conference Annual Council, and for the North American Division Year-End Meeting. There are special needs for intercession all across the Division. You will also have specific needs and praises in your church.

Resources

Have you seen the phenomenal new book, Steps to Personal Revival? For a free download, go to www.discipleshipcourse.org. This little book by a German SDA pastor, Helmut Haubeil, has been called an awesome tool that has helped literally tens of thousands around the world to experience a true revival. Five hundred years ago a document by a German pastor sparked the greatest Reformation in the history of Christianity. Perhaps this one will do the same.

Many pastors, prayer coordinators, elders and church boards, worship leaders and others, are using the little book - OK, All Together Now, as a helpful resource for the prayer-saturated church. It is available at a steep discount when purchased in volume. The Pacific Press is temporarily sold out but they will be available again in a few days. Contact HighWalk Productions at [email protected] for availability at the discount price. It's a great discussion-starter for a small group study in your church.

Inspiring Story
Here are some pictures from God's Closet last Friday! God blessed and sent us 471 people including children!  Check out our Facebook page: God's Closet-Morganton.
We are the 24th of 27 Adventist churches in North America, Canada, and Australia to have a God's Closet ministry.

New Leadership

Beginning in October, our new leader in Prayer Ministries in North America will be James Black. He will also be Chaplain for the Headquarters office, as well as Director of Reclaiming Ministries. He has been Director of Youth Ministries in North America, and we welcome him now to this new position. I'm sure you will be blessed by his leadership and I know you'll give him your full support.

A big thank you to Diane Levy, who has taken care of so many details - prayer requests, website, newsletter, and numerous communications with many.  Diane, we've been blessed by your work.

There have been so many who have worked tirelessly, behind the scenes,  and far into the night to prepare needed materials. We want to especially thank Karen Martell, Gary Burns, Mark Bond, Michael Roland, and Diane Baier. Only in eternity will we see the extent of their sacrifices and works of love.

Ruthie Jacobsen
Since this will be my final newsletter I want to thank God for the privilege of working with the wonderful groups of Prayer Coordinators and pastors across North America for nearly a quarter of a century. We consider you the best prayer leaders in the world. We've been gloriously blessed to see God's power and faithfulness, and to watch Him work through His people.

Love and prayers,
