"Changing" St. John's

Bring Your Change
Anytime!!!

Presented at the Altar
The Second Sunday
of the Month
Total to Date: $354.64

Changing St. John's

Save your coins when you empty your pockets at night. Collect them in a can or "mite" box and bring them to St. John's. Bring them anytime, and we'll present these "mites" on the first Sunday of the month. Many small efforts could make a big change in our budget and ministry. (We have can wrappers in the narthex to help us remember.)

Shopping Cards
An Easy Way to Help

Stop & Shop Cards
In Stock!
Available Every Sunday

When you buy shopping/gift cards through St. John's, you are making a contribution that does not cost you financially. It may take a little planning.  Order forms are available in the narthex and can be placed in the lockbox at any time.

To make it easy, here's the form for ordering. Print it and bring it on Sunday.

And if you want more choices, here's a complete list. Sue Bremer could order anything on this list.

 Dear Friends:

Happy Fall...I mean summer? I have lived in Connecticut all my life and, as they say, one thing is certain - if you don't like the weather here, wait a day, and it will change.

Who would have thought when we were just about ready to bring out the sweaters and warmer clothing that we would be back in shorts and tee shirts?

Change. My youngest son left for college in Colorado this September. For the first time in 27 years, there are no children in the house. Change. In my heart, I know he's thriving and loving life. Isn't that what we want our children to do? Of course. But, it is a change. I'm not waiting for the garage door to open at midnight, praying he is safe and sound. I will admit I do pray that he is safe and sound halfway across the country. It is a change. My oldest son is engaged and will be getting married next year. Change. I will finally have a daughter (his words). What does that do to holidays? Split between in-laws, I guess. Change.

Both changes are good with expectations of many more to come. I thought I was ready for these changes, but then they sneak up on you. You remember thinking how long it will be before these changes occur. Suddenly, change is here.

Don and I look forward to seeing both boys in Colorado and spending time with them.

As every day brings a change to you and/or your family, I pray that you find comfort in whatever path they may lead you.
