Lakefield Santa Claus Parade
 
The Lakefield Lion Club's Annual Santa Claus Parade is:
Sunday, November 20th, 2016 beginning at 1:00 PM in downtown Lakefield!

After the parade, children are invited to come & visit Santa at the Lakefield Legion (10 Nichols Street, Lakefield) and receive a bag of goodies and a drink!

 

Fall Leaf & Yard Curbside Collection 

  • Bridgenorth: November 10 & 24;
  • Lakefield: November 9 & 23;
  • Woodland Acres / Terraview Heights: November 4 & 18.
It's as easy as: collect, bundle and place at the roadside! Remember there is no limit on the number of bags or bundles collected. To check if you are within the boundaries, or for more information, visit the County of Peterborough website.  

Accepted items include:
Leaves, Brush, branches, hedge and tree trimmings, House and garden plants, Jack-O-Lanterns (candles removed).

For residents outside of the pick-up boundaries, leaf & yard waste can be dropped off at the Township Landfill (1480 County Road 18) free-of-charge until November 24th. But don't forget your landfill pass!   
Change Your Clocks - Change Your Alarm Batteries
 
On Sunday, November 6, 2016, clocks are turned backward 1 hour
 
Change Your Clocks - Change Your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Batteries 

As a reminder, when you change your clocks, you should change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. This simple step could save lives.

Ensure that smoke alarms are installed on every storey of your home and outside sleeping areas. For best protection, install smoke alarms in every bedroom.

Install Carbon Monoxide alarms outside each sleeping area if you have a fuel burning appliance and/or and attached garage. 

Winter Parking Regulations
   
We remind everyone that there is no parking on all Township roads overnight during the winter season to allow for safe and effective snow clearing.
 



Landfill Operating on Winter Hours!
 
The landfill site at 1480 8th Line (County Road 18) will be operating on "Winter Hours" from November 1st to December 31st:
 
Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Winter Walking Drop-In
Strap on your running shoes on a cold winter day and walk around the Ennismore Community Centre (553 Ennis Road, Ennismore).
  • Walk Mondays & Tuesdays from 9:00AM - 12 Noon; and
  • Wednesdays & Thursdays from 7:00AM - 10:00AM.  
The doors are open for residents to enjoy an indoor walking space during the winter months at no charge.

VON Night with the Petes!
 
The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) serving Peterborough, Victoria & Haliburton presents: A Night with the Peterborough Petes!

On Tuesday, November 22nd, the Peterborough Petes will be taking on their rival, the Oshawa Generals at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

VON will be hosting a 'Chuck a Puck' event that evening during the second intermission of the game. There will also be an exciting raffle item to vie for; proceeds go towards VON's much needed at-home and community programming!
