Men and STORMS

 Handling the
Storms  of Life ...God's Way

Men and STORMS

Speaking last Friday to approximately 40 men at our NGA FMMF (North Georgia  Friday Morning Mens Fellowship)...
the topic was so near and dear to me because

Years ago I sought the Lord with all my heart and soul while going through the STORM of a painful 5 year loss of nearly all of our material possessions
(listen to audio attached)

THE BIGGEST SURPRISE:

...well-meaning dear Christian friends gave me PEP TALK type of advice..."You can do it"..."This too shall pass"..."Do what you've always done it will bounce back..."

GOOD ENCOURAGEMENT but not insight from the WORD on how to handle the STORM God's way?!

INSTEAD... THANKS BE TO THE LORD...

I dug deep into the Bible for insight
...and found it!!!

GOD'S WONDERFUL INSIGHTS into handling the storms of life...
listen to the audio message attached below for the CRITICAL and very special mature GODLY approach to the STORMS we all face during our lifetime

My highlight last Friday DURING THE TALK was listening to the men out loud saying in unison...
2 Corinthians 12:9

MEN READING THE WORD TOGETHER OUT LOUD...UPLIFTING and AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

To listen to the audio:

                                                  Ted Sprague

"...MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, FOR MY POWER IS MADE IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS..."2Cor 12:9

P.S.

ANOTHER STORM...that sickens me and many others!

LeBron, Gimme A Break!

When LeBron James , who I admire greatly for his athletic ability, was interviewed this week regarding his thoughts on President Trump he showed total disrespect for our U.S. President....calling him derogatory names..plus
James went on
to say that the President was a bad role model
for young people..
.
 QUESTION
But LeBron what about professional athletes, movie/TV stars and singers?...Sadly, young people idolize them much more than a President

WHAT A SELF RIGHTEOUS RIDICULOUS COMMENT because!!!

LeBron,  knows only too well...The NBA is widely known for their players' involvement with women in every port...One famous player boasted in a biographical book that he had 10,000 sexual relationships during his career

ATHLETES, SINGERS and MOVIE STARS
are often publicized for SEX, ALCOHOL and DRUG problems

GOOD NEWS

GOD'S WORD TO THE RESCUE... for hopefully the USA !

I think about the Bible and the actual story of the woman caught in adultery....

the "mob" (NBA, NFL, Singers, Movie TV stars) were ready to stone the woman (President Trump)

JESUS said..."Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."
As the Bible points out...they all walked away and did not stone the woman
(NBA, NFL, Singers, Movie stars)

Jesus then said to the woman (President Trump)...
"Go and sin no more"!

THAT'S WHERE WE ARE AS A COUNTRY...totally divided drifting farther
and farther away from God and His Word

Bottom Line:

*ONE of the things that bugs me most is POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

*another....Prayer and God taken out of schools and government

*Abortion...millions of babies killed

MY PERSONAL REMEDY:

DON'T TAKE A KNEE DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM..respect the Flag and those who have fought for our freedom...then ...DO THE MOST CONSTRUCTIVE POSITIVE THING YOU KNOW TO DO...

FOR ME...PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST TO PEOPLE LIKE THE WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY and SELF RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE TOO.. and as led people I encounter....KNOWING IN HUMILITY...
I AM A SINNER SAVED BY GRACE

That's why God's word is so wonderful...
After we repent of known sins we can HUMBLY boast of our many weaknesses so that the power of Christ may be upon us...
one of the fruits of HIS  power in our weakness is HUMILITY

Two quick example where HUMILITY was key:

1-On the 18th hole of the Eastlake Golf  Club as we watched the FedEx Cup  Championship...after moving our chairs around the green a record 6 times...Tudi sat next to a much younger man visiting from Indiana...she introduced me to him and we struck up a very enjoyable deep conversation about faith in Christ and battling addictions plus marriage challenges...he now receives my weekly emails .. our hosts for the enjoyable golf event were Rick and Kathie...after hearing of our conversation Kathie said "now I know why we did all that moving around"

2-A couple days ago Tudi and I met a lady 45-50 new to our area...as Tudi walked away I asked the lady where she was from.. before I knew it I was sharing my background of coming to Christ... that led her to say "I have been married 3 different times...all to the same man" I shared with her the triangle,  God at the top ...man and woman at the different sides...the key is seek God first before each other...she said her and her husband don't do church...we then talked about Jesus...Frankly I was amazed how fast we got into the very deep conversation...of course I gave her a wristband and she immediately put it on saying we'd see them again soon
