Urge Senators Kaine and Warner to Sign on to the Durbin/Blunt Letter to the  House and Senate Armed Services Committees to save the DOD Breast Cancer Research Program

As you may know The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2018 passed without a vote on the Durbin/Blunt amendment that would save the DOD BCRP.*  The House version of the bill did not include the language that would destroy these programs and the Senate and House will now conference to work out the differences between the two bills.

Senators Durbin and Blunt will be sending a letter to the Chair and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees requesting that the NDAA Conference Committee reject sections 733, 801, 892 and 893 of the FY 2018 Senate NDAA bill to save these programs.

Action Needed:
It is urgent that you contact your Senators and
ask them to sign on to the Durbin/Blunt letter.

Your message is:
Senator _____, I urge you to support the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program by signing on to the Durbin/Blunt Letter to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees requesting that the NDAA Conference Committee reject sections 733, 801, 892 and 893 of the FY 2018 Senate NDAA bill.

Senator Tim Kaine:
202-224-4024

Senator Mark Warner:
202-224-2023

*The NDAA passed in the Senate with problematic language introduced by Senator McCain that would tie the program up in red tape to the point of making it ineffective - the language can be found  here. The Durbin/Blunt amendment would have removed that language but it was not voted upon.
