Scott Smith began his career in recreation and has worked his way up to the City Manager position. The students had to identify all of the services that the city provides and learned that excellent customer service and effective communication is necessary both in business and in running a city.

Scott is an early adopter of technology, so we discussed how the city uses  iPads, and Dropbox to put information at their fingertips.

                                                                     

Scott Bierman, owner of Pro-Mow Lawn Care. does an excellent job in setting goals, and using existing data to plan and manage his operations. He shared with the students the board that he uses to direct and communicate with his staff. T

We practiced our networking skills with parents and mentors this Friday during Networking Day.

We also learned that working in a group usually yields better results and then tried our hand at building spaghetti towers. The goal was to create the tallest free-standing tower. The winning team was Jade Rappe, Noah and Robert Patterson, Terry Real and Reece Prior. However, shortly after the time, their tower crashed, so the second place team of Jill Nilsen, Mary Dowd, Ashley Pearcy and Julia Griffin was also awarded a prize.

Then the students discussed their group business using the Business Canvas format. They broke even this week and continue to sell to individuals, but are now focusing on opportunities with holidays gifts for businesses.

             

Kevin Dowd and Mason Mcgahey spoke to the students of Charis Christian Academy about the benefits of enrolling in ClassE.
