Please see below for a summary of the September 12, 2017 City Council meeting.

Ordinance No. 17-07: Amending the City's Zoning Ordinance Regarding Limits to the Number of Medical Marijuana Plants Permitted in Residential Structures (First Reading)
City Council unanimously approved Ordinance 17-07 which seeks to amend Section 2303A of Section 23A of the Castle Pines Zoning Ordinance to reduce the number of medical marijuana plants permitted in residential structures from 30 to 12 plants. This City amendment follows a state-wide amendment that also reduces the number of marijuana plants permitted in residential homes. 

The purpose of first reading is to move the application forward to a public hearing and final consideration, at which time the applicant and members of the public will be able to provide testimony and present evidence on the proposed ordinance. The public hearing is scheduled for September 26 at 6:00 p.m. 


Resolution No. 17-17: Agreement with The Canyons Metropolitan District for Reimbursement of the Design & Construction of Drainage and Flood Control Improvements
City Council approved Resolution 17-17 which states that The Canyons Metropolitan District will fully reimburse the City for all design and construction costs associated with drainage and flood control improvements required within the Metropolitan District as part of development.  


Resolution No. 17-18: Agreement with Colorado Designscapes, Inc. for Snow & Ice Removal Services
City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Colorado Designscapes, Inc. for snow and ice removal services within the City for the 2017-2018 winter season. Staff's recommendation to retain Colorado Designscapes, Inc. comes after a competitive bidding process. The City and Designscapes have agreed to a not-to-exceed amount of $334,000.
