Frances Trotsky
Frances Trotsky, Hawai'i Sip 'n' Swim Club, Lessons Learned at the Edge of the Pool
"So, how'd you come to be in Hawaii?"
The women of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel's water aerobics class often find themselves answering this question. Arriving in Hawaii at different times, from different countries, each has her own fascinating tale to tell. One woman survived the horror of the London Blitz, while another almost drowned at the hands of an abusive husband. One learned to survive in the backwoods in the "Dirty Thirties," while a fourth had a close encounter with a mob boss. One grew up in the north of Canada; another learned to swim in the English Channel. Frances is co-author with six other women of Hawai'i Sip 'n' Swim Club, Lessons Learned at the Edge of the Pool

Eliza Cahill
Eliza Cahill:  Words Float
Eliza is a promising young writer, creative director, and designer. Eliza coaches creative writing workshops, co-facilitates the Waimea Writers Group, and serves as a writer/director in the Waimea Community Theater. She self-published her first poetry book, Paper Life Vest in 2014, followed by its sequel, Words Float, in 2015. The poems reflect a surreal combination of her childhood emersion in nature, the underground hip-hop revolution, and an afterglow of the feminist movement.
Cahill's book Words Float is an eloquent goodbye to childhood, coupled with poignant last walks down memory lane.  This book explores the authors love, life and woes with tender honesty and razor-sharp insight.
