NKBA Selects Manhattan's own
Briana Ryan
to 30U30!
Briana Ryan, showroom manager of the Fisher & Paykel | DCS Experience Center, was selected to receive a Thirty Under 30 award at KBIS 2018. She has been a member of the kitchen and bath industry for the past six years, previously working in surfaces before joining the New Zealand-based appliance manufacturer. Ryan currently serves as Manhattan Chapter secretary, and will move into Communications Chair next year. "I am so excited to receive this award," said Ryan. "I am honored to represent New York City amongst my peers in this talented group of rising kitchen and bath professionals." Founded in 2013, the Thirty Under 30 award is designed to celebrate the future rock stars of the kitchen and bath industry. NKBA is adding a fun element to this year's proceedings. Prior to KBIS 2018, the newly inducted honorees will be assigned into six groups of five, with each team collaborating on a "Product of the Future." The teams will present their creations on the KBISNeXT stage on January 11. |

FROM THE PRESIDENT
We have been blessed with a comfortable summer and now the Fall fun begins! Manhattan Chapter kicked off the season with a bang this month at the Jenn-Air showroom, where we learned the art of creating the feng shui kitchen and home. Julie Schuster, certified feng shui master and principal of Julie Schuster Design Studio, gave us "food for thought" on how to direct energy and create positive flow that nourishes the soul in our designed spaces. A skill that goes beyond creating great design and décor and uses the elements of fire, earth, metal, water and wood to bring in the "zen." Thank you, Julie, for the masterful tips we can implement even in New York's tiny kitchens.
Next month, October, as you know, is National Kitchen and Bath month. Mark your calendar for October 19th and join us as we honor our industry. To be held at the Fisher & Paykel showroom, we will share information on increasing your design business by utilizing the internet. A must-see and win-win event for all business owners. Also keep an eye out for Oktoberfest events that will be announced by kitchen and bath showrooms around the city. They never disappoint.
Have fun and be well!
