Texas is strong!
Greetings!

It is hard to believe, but on the date of this newsletter, it has almost been a month since hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas. For many, clean up continues even after 30 days. Families are picking up the pieces, getting back into the groove of work and school while rebuilding after the loss of cars, homes, irreplaceable family heirlooms and, in some tragic cases, family members and friends. We see a strong and resilient Texas. A Texas focused on rebuilding, going back to business and dealing with loss and damage in a united way.

As NBSO office we are fortunate enough to be able to share positive news with you. On September 1 st, we welcomed our two new interns, Cathelijn ten Kate and Marloes Bakker. Both will conduct a research in our office for three months. We have a very informative article about visa’s and immigration regulations in our Frequently Asked Questions-item, a launching date for our new event ‘Connecting the Dutch’, an interesting job opportunity on our Marketplace and many more items!

The entire nation is watching with pride. We would like to extend our wishes to you, your family, and friends for a safe and speedy recovery moving forward. Let us all continue to be "Houston Strong!"

NBSO's Trading Post
A trading post was an establishment where the trading of goods and the exchange of information took place. The trading post of the NBSO serves the same purpose; connecting the Dutch in their demand and supply, knowledge sharing and the exchange of news and advice. Today on NBSO's trading post: a job opportunity for a country/region Director at My Multichannel.
The Dutch in Texas
In every news letter we make sure a Dutch company is in the limelight. This week we would like to introduce you to Mammoet, a privately held Dutch company specializing in the hoisting and transporting heavy objects.
FAQ: Visa procedures
In serving our clients, we frequently hear the same questions and concerns. Which is very logical, looking at the fact that most entrepreneurs encounter the same challenges when doing business in Texas. We asked our experts to serve you with very detailed insights and advice on these topics. This time an item on Visa options for employees of new business in the United States.
NBSO Coming Up: Connecting the Dutch
There is a huge Dutch community in Texas with multiple Dutch networks. However, these networks are not very well connected. This can be improved. Dutch people new in Texas, all face the same challenges and everyone must build their own network. Why shouldn’t we help each other? Let's connect the Dutch! On Oct. 24, we'll launch this concept at Suitsupply Houston.
