Texas is strong!
Greetings!

It is hard to believe, but on the date of this newsletter, it has almost been a month since hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas. For many, clean up continues even after 30 days. Families are picking up the pieces, getting back into the groove of work and school while rebuilding after the loss of cars, homes, irreplaceable family heirlooms and, in some tragic cases, family members and friends. We see a strong and resilient Texas. A Texas focused on rebuilding, going back to business and dealing with loss and damage in a united way.

As NBSO office we are fortunate enough to be able to share positive news with you. On September 1 st, we welcomed our two new interns, Cathelijn ten Kate and Marloes Bakker. Both will conduct a research in our office for three months. Since Hurricane Harvey hit, the Houston area has endured tremendous challenges. Despite the challenges, Houstonians have shown an unbelievable compassion and drive to help one another. This week we would like to introduce you to one of our valued colleagues from the Dutch Embassy in Washington DC, Ton Akkerman, Agriculture Counselor to the US, Puerto, and Canada since August of 2014 where he represents the Dutch agricultural interests.

On September 1st 2017, we welcomed two new interns from the Netherlands, Cathelijn ten Kate and Marloes Bakker. Both interns will be working at our office for three months and are conducting in-depth market researches on the Lifesciences & Health sector in Texas and the Port of Houston.
