Author Visit
Lynnda Pollio, author of the multi-award-winning visionary novel "Trusting the Currents," will talk about her book, read from it, and take questions from the audience on Wednesday, November 9, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the community room.

The book is narrated in the voice of Addie Mae Aubrey, a Southern, African-American woman remembering her teenage years in the late 1930s rural South and telling her spiritual story of self-discovery. The book has won 12 literary awards, including the Nautilus Book Awards Gold Medal in Fiction. Pollio wrote "Trusting the Currents" while she was staying in Sedona, and Sedona plays a pivotal role in the book.
Coloring Club at the Library
Adult coloring is all the rage these days, including at Sedona Public Library! Coloring is not only fun, but also good for your health. Coloring can be an excellent way to unwind, alleviate stress, and explore creativity risk-free.

The Sedona Coloring Club will meet at the Library on Thursday, November 10, and Tuesday, November 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. Drop in or RSVP through http://www.meetup.com/Sedona-Coloring-Club/.

Origami, Clay, Cartooning, and Game Day!
On the first Wednesday of every month, the Library offers an afternoon of hands-on activity for youth from noon to 4 p.m. On Wednesday, November 2, make origami with a professional paper sculptress and join Marcia in creating with clay. All ages are welcome, and those under 10 must have a caregiver nearby.

More than two thousand libraries around the world will celebrate the 9th annual International Games Day @ Your Library. A variety of games, puzzles, and video activities will be set up in the community room and throughout the Library for your playing pleasure on Saturday, November 19. Everyone can play!

Also on Saturday, November 19, JANIMAL, our famous local cartoon artist will roam the Quiet Study Room and use his superpowers to help budding artists. JANIMAL will teach -- you will learn! Ages 6 and up can join from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Consumer Fraud Information
On Monday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Library, volunteers from the Arizona Attorney General Sedona satellite office will be available to give information on consumer fraud, identity theft, and civil rights. While volunteers are not able to give legal advice, they can help victims of consumer fraud file complaints.
Donor Spotlight
In honor of Veteran's Day, we are proud to highlight this month's library donor: Daniel Aragaki.

Daniel is a Vietnam War veteran and a supporter of the Veteran's History Project at Sedona Public Library.

In addition to generously donating his time to the Library, Daniel is an active volunteer across the community: Verde Search and Rescue, Friends of the Forest Graffiti Removal and Trail Maintenance Teams, and Verde Valley Archaeology Center are all recipients of his volunteer efforts. For the Veteran's History Project, Daniel is a specially trained volunteer who conducts interviews of veterans.

The Library is grateful for Daniel's volunteer work and generous support of the Library. We salute and honor him, and all veterans, this month, and all year, for their service to our country.

Every day the reference staff at Sedona Library assists people with minor technology issues like how to print a document, send a fax, locate their email account, or set up their laptop to access Wi-Fi. Most of these transactions take only a few minutes.

The Library is now offering free 30-minute, one-on-one tutoring sessions for patrons who have technology needs that require more time and expertise.
Sessions are being offered Monday afternoons, and on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and afternoons. Call the Library's reference desk during regular business hours at 928-282-7714, ext. 114, to talk about what you need and arrange for a time to meet with the most qualified staff member. Whatever your technology need, we want to help!
