This Saturday: Housing Townhall in Richmond
We must work together to solve our housing crisis!
Housing demand in the Bay Area continues to outpace supply, driving up prices, lengthening commutes and increasing pollution, and displacing hard-working families.

With median Bay Area home prices around $800,000, it's no surprise that 65% of Bay Area residents believe that housing affordability is a serious problem.

Many renters spend over 50% of their income on rent. That leaves less money available to pay for food, healthcare, commute expenses and child care.

Our region must come together to solve our housing affordability crisis, or we risk growing economic disparity and increased homelessness.

To this end, I will be Co-Chairing a newly established Contra Costa Housing Advisory Committee which will work to develop a countywide affordable housing plan. This committee will be composed of housing advocates, affected community members, and civic, business, labor and environmental leaders.

This Saturday we'll be holding a Housing Townhall in Richmond. This meeting is one of a series of townhalls being held around our County to share information about the housing crisis and hear from residents how they are affected and what ideas they have to help solve the problem.
