Principal's Letter

Dear All Saints Families,

I want to begin by sincerely thanking our eighth grade teachers (Ms. Bastien, Mrs. Bertoni, and Mrs. Zanotelli), students, and parents who organized, set up, and ran the Fall Festival last Friday.  It was an amazing event filled with spirit and love that served our community so perfectly.  I thank our entire faculty for being in the spirit for the day despite the craziness. There were many schedule changes and everyone chipped in to help the day go smoothly.  We all smiled throughout the day.  This is the type of day we realize we have an amazing community.

Tomorrow, November 1st is another such day.  On this Holy Day of Obligation, we will have Mass at St. Peter at 9:30 AM.  This Mass is delayed half an hour to let the St. Peter parish 8:00 AM Mass clear out of the parking lot so we can safely cross into the church.  If you are new to the school, we encourage you to help us celebrate this Liturgy.  Our elementary grade students parade as saints into the church.  It is so adorable and faith-filled.  Parents, please know that we do not have Mass on Thursday.  Our Tuesday and Thursday schedules flip-flop.  Please make sure your students who do not dress as saints are in liturgy attire on Tuesday and not on Thursday.  If your child has PE on Thursday, they will have it on Tuesday and vice versa.  This allows for no loss of specials and core subject minutes.

This Saturday is the auction weekend.  On Saturday, November 5, the Home and School Association will host its annual auction at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter.  The deadline to send in your RSVP was October 18th, but our very generous committee will accept them until the end of the day, Tuesday, November 1, as we must submit our final number by this date. The committee has asked if all attendees could kindly email the first and last name of every person in all parties to [email protected] as soon as possible.  The location is asking this for the gate entrance and the committee wants to make sure any late RSVP's were not delayed.   I hope you are enjoying the daily posts on Facebook, advertising some of the wonderful baskets that are available for bidding and purchasing.  Information for Bidpal will be released this week.  Bidpal allows electronic bidding for those at the event and those who are not available to attend the auction, but wish to bid on items.   Also this week, the Auction Committee is selling the Golden Ticket.  For $100 anyone can win one of the silent auction items listed on the back of the Golden Ticket form.  It is an amazing opportunity to win a wonderful prize for just $100.  If you do not win, it is a generous donation to the event.  On Tuesday, the Auction Committee will be in the lobby to sell these tickets.  If you are interested and cannot get access to buy a ticket, please call the main office and we will make sure you are able to purchase one.  We are so excited for this event.  Each year, the event never disappoints and this year our Auction Committee is spectacular.  I cannot thank everyone enough for creating this event. The co-chairs, Mrs. Kara Hodas. Mrs. Jackie Marvin, and Mrs. Jenn Patterson have worked for hours.  I am worried they are now sleeping on campus!  Mrs. Amy Gentile is making all our baskets so inviting.  Mrs. Joanna Donohoe, Mr. Peter Becci, and Mrs. Christine Becci are completing the computer entries. Mr. Wayne Grant is our photographer extraordinaire.  Mrs. Valerie Boyd and Mrs. Jen Freitas are the centerpiece gurus of the event, and our room parents creating the best yet class projects, I know I am leaving some wonderful volunteers out and I apologize.  I truly thank all of our volunteers as I am aware it takes a community to make such an event a success.

Just a quick note.... I have had several requests for a copy of the presentation to middle school regarding "Preparing your Child for High School".   The presentation has been uploaded to the website under the "Students" tab and then under " 8th Grade High School Info".  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have a blessed week.  I hope to see you on Tuesday at Mass and at the Winter Wonderland Auction on Saturday.

Yours in Christ,

Jill Broz

Volunteer Opportunities

Hospitality:
We need to organize a committee that would help set up (food/decorations) and run special events or meetings at the school.  This would allow the talent and creativity in our parents to shine during events.  Further, it would be so nice to have the presence of parents at the events to represent families in our community.  Examples of such events would be Open House, Grandparents Reception, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, HSA General Meetings and Pastors' Meetings.  Please contact Patty Rabideau if you are interested in joining this committee or have any questions,  561-385-1659 [email protected].

Auction:
The auction is this Saturday.  Help is needed during the event.  Please contact the committee if you would like to help the night of the event.

Helping Hands:
This program runs throughout the school year and is held on Wednesday mornings after drop off in the cafeteria.  This program assists the teachers by doing prep work for upcoming classroom projects or assignments.  There is also an opportunity to take work home.  This is a great way for full time working parents to receive volunteer hours.  Contact Rita Berley at  301-509-0729  or  [email protected]  if you would like to help or have any questions.

Santa Shop:
Immediately after Thanksgiving our school has a small "Santa Shop" for our students to purchase for family Christmas gifts. Help is needed for set up, running the shop, and clean up.  Please contact Mrs Liz Hamila for further details, 561-214-1166 or [email protected].

THANK YOU TO OUR MANY VOLUNTEERS!
