Academics

A new grading scale has been adopted for the 2016-2017 school year.  

The new grading scale and class weighting is posted on the main Sun Valley web page under the "Have You Heard" section.


Athletics


 
Football has qualified for PIAA playoffs, the game will be on Friday November 4th @7pm versus West Chester Henderson.

Indoor Track signups will be after school on Wednesday, November 2, in the Cafeteria.  This is a great opportunity to stay in shape, earn a Varsity or JV letter, and boost your college resume.  Looking forward to a fun season - no experience necessary - looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday after school.

Winter Sports Physicals will be on Wednesday, November 2, after school.  Stop by the Athletic Office to schedule an appointment.  The cost is $15 to be paid the day of your physical.  If you played a fall sport, you only need to turn in a Section 7 form for re-certification then you're cleared to participate in a winter sport.

  Sun Valley sponsors a College-Bound Student-Athlete advisory for any student interested in playing at the collegiate level.  The Sun Valley staff sponsors this group and focuses on advising, supporting, mentoring and encouraging young athletes.  Each staff advisor is assigned a small group of student-athletes who he/she will work with throughout high school.  The advisor will make sure the student-athlete has the knowledge and guidance needed to play at the next level.  The group will meet once or twice per month for presentations, events, or small group athletic/college counseling.

Save the date:  November 18th, first practice for winter sports.  All athletes are expected to have a PIAA physical prior to the first practice.

Committee and Club Meetings


There will be a brief Spanish Honor Society meeting on Tuesday, November 1, in Mrs. Diehl's room, D-92.  Please see her or Mrs. Bednar if you cannot attend.
 
There will be a Hi-Q meeting after school Tuesday, November 1, in Mr. Koke's room, B-51.
 
Reading Olympics will meet on Thursday, November 3, at 2:15 in the MIC.
