STRESS
AND HOW IT AFFECTS OUR SKIN
Have you ever noticed that when you are stressed, you break out more?
This is because stress causes your body to produce cortisol and other hormones, which tell your sebaceous glands to produce more oil, making you more prone to pimples.

When you are stressed, the skin's repair mechanisms are compromised. Stress can cause a chemical response in your body that makes skin more sensitive and reactive. It can also make it harder for skin problems to heal.

Your emotions have a powerful effect on your skin. Since stress is a part of life, what matters most is how you handle it.

Stress can also worsen psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, or cause hives and other types of skin rashes.

Although it is impossible to avoid stress completely, there are ways to help manage it better. Don't neglect your skin. Take good care of it even if you are stressed or tired. Sooth the skin by decreasing the stress responses through relaxation, meditation and yoga.
