Food Tasting Event
Experience a Food Tasting in Oxford
Saturday, September 30 at 2:30pm 

Sponsored by Shiloh Presbyterian Church    
Oxford Area High School

This community-wide event, "Experience a Food Tasting In Oxford," will once again host culinary artists who will prepare special dishes. We are preparing to serve approximately 500 people of all ages. Crafters and vendors, door prizes, as well as live entertainment by author Michelle Booker, will also be included.  All proceeds benefit the SPC Community Outreach Center Programs.

Advanced ticket costs are $20 per adult and $10 children 4-10. Group rates are available for 10 or more at $17 each. You may leave a message at the church office to order advance tickets and/or for further information, 610-932-9256.

300th Anniversary Celebration Worship Event
Presbytery of Philadelphia

This gathering will include:
  • Guest preachers Rev. Dr. Craig Barnes, President of Princeton Theological Seminary, and Rev. Denise Anderson, Co-Moderator of the 222nd General Assembly
  • Collective youth and adult choirs led by Dr. Donald Dumpson and other music leaders from around our presbytery
  • Special guests and leaders from the PC(USA) and our local community and public officials
  • Celebration of saints past and present, whose faithfulness continue to shape the spirit of our witness today and tomorrow
  • Post-event fellowship and reception beginning at approximately 12pm

Opioid Abuse Prevention Presentation
Chester County Overdose Prevention Task Force 
Tuesday, October 10 at 7pm 
   
Honeybrook Presbyterian Church     
Opioid abuse is a serious public health issue. Drug overdose deaths are the leading cause of injury death in the United States. And it is in our community. The Chester County Overdose Prevention Task Force was formed in March 2015 to coordinate overdose death prevention efforts between various organizations. The presenters at the presentation will be Erik Walschburger from the DA's Office, Ethan Healey from Good Fellowship EMS, and Jamie Johnson from Chester Co. Dept. of Drug and Alcohol Services. The Church is also inviting community groups and leaders to be on hand for resources and additional information.

Church Rummage Sale

Avondale Presbyterian Church     
The Women's Association of Avondale PC will hold a benefit Rummage Sale on Friday, October 13,  and Saturday, October 14 at the church.  The sale will feature bargains on children and adult clothing of all sizes, as well as household goods, books, shoes, sporting goods, games & toys, tools, furniture, linens, collectibles, and more. Rummage donations can be dropped off at the church the week of October 9 through Thursday. All proceeds are donated to missions.

2018 Mission Trip to Guatemala

Guatemala Mission Endeavor of the Presbytery of Donegal is planning a mission trip to visit brothers and sisters in Guatemala on July 2-11, 2018.  We will interact with children, youth, and adults visiting schools, churches, and more to enhance relationships and learn from one another.  The trip includes the areas of Quiche, Quetzaltenango, Suchitepequez, and Antiqua.  We will also be sightseeing and going to a beautiful beach on the trip.

Craft Fair & Christmas Bazaar

The 2017 Avondale PC Craft Fair and Christmas Bazaar will be held Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11. The popular event features over 50 crafters and vendors selling a wide variety of distinctive hand-made crafts, woodworking, jewelry and fashion accessories, Christmas decorations and gift ideas, Vermont cheese, homemade confections, toys, books, and much more. Also featured is the aptly named Attic Treasures where previously loved items will be sold at affordable prices. Delicious homemade chili, vegetarian chili, chicken corn soup, desserts, and more will be available for purchase both days. 

Proceeds from the event will be shared with Oxford Neighborhood Services, The Kennett Food Cupboard, The Bridge at Avon Grove Church of the Nazarene, as well as the APC building fund. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help replenish the pantry shelves at these local food banks.
