Use the Academy.17 meeting app as your mobile event guide for Academy 2017 Chicago! You can download the app to your mobile device, use the Desktop Online Planner, or access Academy.17 in an Internet browser on your mobile device.

Shuttle Information
The Academy will provide complimentary shuttle service to and from McCormick Place for attendees staying in our contracted hotels. Attendees should be prepared to show their hotel keys to the shuttle driver in order to ride. View the shuttle pickup locations and schedule.
Onsite Registration Hours and Locations
Pick up your badge and registration materials at Registration Central in the convention center beginning at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Satellite registration sites will also be available at the Palmer House Hilton and Hyatt Regency Chicago. See full onsite registration hours and locations here.
Thinking about attending Academy 2017 Chicago taking place October 11-14, 2017? Remember to register online by October 7 in order to receive regular registration rates. Anyone registering after that time will need to do so onsite.


Blood Drive at Academy 2017 Chicago

Join us on Friday, October 13 for the Friday the 13th Vein Drain to benefit the Red Cross. Appointments can be made for between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The blood drive will take place in E256, Lakeside Center. Walk ups are also welcome!

The Alcon Foundation Cycle for Sight 20/20 Challenge
Celebrate World Sight Day with the Alcon Foundation and the American Academy of Optometry Foundation at 2017 Academy Chicago!  Academy attendees are invited to hop on a stationary bike Oct 12-13, and help us reach our goal of 2,020 minutes total ride time. Students are encouraged to ride, as best school participation will be recognized. Meeting our challenge goal will trigger a $25,000 donation from the Alcon Foundation to support the American Academy of Optometry Foundation's optometric education and research programs.

Optometry and Vision Science Journal Highlight
The September issue of Optometry and Vision Science featured the article "A Randomized Trial of Soft Multifocal Contact Lenses for Myopia Control: Baseline Data and Methods" by Jeff Walline et al.
Congratulations to Academy Fellow Nathan Efron for receiving the 2017 Ruben Medal from the International Society for Contact Lens Research.
