The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber encourages you to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.

The Chamber does not endorse or oppose specific candidates for any public office. However, from time to time, the Chamber may endorse specific ballot referenda with Board of Directors approval. 

The Chamber Board has carefully reviewed all 14 Statewide Ballot Amendments and all 5 Local Ballot Amendments and RECOMMENDS a vote FOR the following.

FOR STATE AMENDMENT 8

Passage of this amendment would mean that Alabama's status as a right-to-work state would be protected by both the Alabama State Constitution and the Code of Alabama -- a stronger protection than the current protection only under the Code of Alabama.

FOR STATE AMENDMENT 12

Passage of this amendment would enable the Alabama Legislature to authorize future local laws incorporating a toll road and bridge authority for cities or towns in Baldwin County.

FOR STATE AMENDMENT 14

Passage of this amendment would clarify laws that were enacted by the legislature between 1984 and November 8, 2016 to ensure that they are considered approved -- so long as those laws were passed in accordance with legislative rules in place at the time they were adopted.

FOR LOCAL AMENDMENT 3

Passage of this amendment would authorize the Legislature by general or local law to provide for the incorporation of a toll road and bridge authority as a public corporation in our county for the construction and operation of toll roads and bridges in the county and to authorize the authority to issue revenue bonds to finance the projects.

FOR LOCAL AMENDMENT 4

Passage of this amendment would authorize any municipality in Baldwin County to allow the limited operation of golf carts on designated municipal streets or public roads subject to restrictions and civil penalties for violations.
