A Dilemna!
Fabric just arrived for our "On the Horizon" Block-of-the Month Club! That's good! Wonderful, in fact, because the fabrics are gorgeous.

So What's the Problem?
It's a bit of a story, but bear with me. When the quilt was first introduced to stores, the picture looked like the picture at right.

I ordered a copy of the pattern and the picture on the front of the pattern looked like the next picture. Big difference!

I called the designer to ask what color the background was supposed to be, and she said, "Cream". The first picture looked really "Tan" to me. I asked why the picture over the fence looked more "White". Apparently, they took a picture of the quilt over the fence on a cloudy day. The photographer "lightened" things up a bit to make the quilt look brighter.

"On the Horizon" is being sold by most stores using the picture of the white quilt, but the fabric in the kit is the tan fabric! Houston, we have a problem!
We think it is important to make sure you are getting what you think you are getting!

What Do the Fabrics in the Quilt Look Like Up Close?
Here's a picture of the actual fabrics....take a close look at the background fabric. Of course, I should point out that with batiks, each bolt can be slightly different as batiks are hand dyed.
More on the Background...
The fabric image supplied by the manufacturer is shown in the first photo. When compared to the actual fabric, it is too "Tan". I did a bit of color correction to show that the actual fabric is a bit more "Cream with a hint of green".  It is not the "White" color shown on the pattern cover.

Alternate Background...
I have several customers who, upon seeing the picture on the pattern cover, wish to have a lighter background. We are investigating this now. There are several options for a lighter cream that will work, and the color for the light quilt will look similar to the color shown below:

Which do You Prefer?
I think you can make a case for either the "Cream with a hint of green" background or an alternate lighter cream. It's a matter of personal preference.

We Need Your Feedback!
If you are interested in making this dazzling quilt, we need to know your background preference right away! The quilt takes 6 1/2 yards of background fabric (plus we are putting in extra in our Boo-Boo Bundle). We already have the original dark cream fabric in the store now. However, is this the color you prefer?  If you would prefer a lighter cream more like the picture over the fence (but not white), we need to order fabric immediately!
