Dear Friends,

Congratulations to all of the young men and women of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on being confirmed this past weekend!

I would like to extend a special congratulations to five members of the Assumption Catholic School class of 2016 that were confirmed over the weekend.  May God bless you and keep you, and may you continue your growth in the Catholic Faith and spread the word as soldiers of God.

HSA Sponsored Halloween Walk-a-Thon
Ghosts and Goblins Parade to Raise Funds to Support Our School and Mission

Two great traditions will be joined together for one great event on October 31 as the HSA hosts the Halloween Parade and Walk-a-Thon!

This is your one and only opportunity to raise funds toward your required HSA Activity Fee.  100% of money raised in pledges for the Walk-a-Thon will be credited toward this family obligation.

If you have already paid your HSA Activity Fee, that money will be credited toward your child's total money raised in the calculations for individual and class prizes.

Get those pledges, put on your costume, and lace up your sneakers to help us reach our goal!

We Did the Mash, We Did the Monster Mash!
Over 150 People Enjoyed a Family Friendly Evening

The Hall was packed Saturday night with ghosts, ghouls, and goblins!  The Monster Mash was a great success thanks to the hard work and tireless efforts of our volunteer parents and the HSA Executive Board.

The fourth and fifth grade families donated the supplies for spooky crafts and games. Delicious pizza and snacks were served to grateful students and families. The kids danced, sang and created before settling in for some Halloween themed movies.

It was great to see the involvement of so many families to put on a fantastic event. I hope you consider volunteering for your classes event and attending the great events planned throughout the year.

Calling All Veterans and Active Military  in the Assumption Family
Assumption Catholic School will be hosting a Veteran's Day Assembly on Thursday November 10.  We would like to honor all veterans and active military members, but especially those in our Assumption Family.  If you or someone close to you is a veteran or active in the military we invite you to attend this assembly so that we can show our gratitude for your service and sacrifice.

If you, or somebody you know, would like to be a part of this special day, please RSVP to principal@oloaffld or 203-334-6271.

Homes for the Brave Souper Bowl  Going On Now
Help  Us Collect Over 1000 Cans of Soup for Homeless Veterans

Current Can Count: 350

The PreK 3 class is collecting cans of soup for the homeless veterans at Homes for the Brave. We have been supporting this mission for over 15 years and last year we set a record by collecting and donating  over 1000 cans of soup.

Students are asked to bring cans of soup to school every Monday from now until the Super Bowl.  In exchange, participating students can wear jeans with their uniform or their favorite team jersey on the Monday they donate the soup.
