This training will provide an overview of the impact of trauma on development and will include concrete strategies of effective ways to respond, instead of react,  to challenging behaviors.  In addition, we will discuss how to promote healing and growth through principles of trauma informed parenting.

Ruth Bodian is the Permanency Coordinator with Cambridge Family and Children's Services and was previously the DCF Project Manager for the Massachusetts Child Trauma Project.  She has extensive experience training foster and adoptive parents in trauma informed parenting.  Her engaging trainings incorporate humor and her perspective as an experienced adoptive parent.

Light refreshments will be served. Entertainment will be provided for children and MARE staff will be on hand to supervise.
