E-Studio Overview
Feedback last year from parents indicated that an overview of E-Studio, which is used by Spanish classes starting in 7th grade, would be very helpful.

FROM ASB
It Starts With You!
ASB has a mission this year, and "It Starts  With  You!" Every action we make as individuals impacts the greater community. That's why we, as a  school, are donating to YouthCare. YouthCare is a non-profit local organization whose mission is to help end youth homelessness in Seattle.
Our goal for this year is to raise $4000 and other needed items. If each ICS family donates $10, we can accomplish this goal. The fundraiser has already begun and will continue until the end of the school year. But we won't reach our goal through family donations alone; we will also put on school events with proceeds going to YouthCare, and we will host other fundraisers throughout the school year. But we need YOU, the families of ICS.
You can donate to YouthCare now by clicking here.

IMPORTANT: in the "Comments" section, write ICS fundraiser so we can keep track our school's progress. And a reminder that donations are tax deductible and eligible for a company match. Thank you!

VOLUNTEERING

LAST CALL: Online Sign-Ups for Volunteer Opportunities Close Soon!
This is the final week to sign up for volunteer opportunities on our online Volunteer Opportunity Interest List.
You will first need to register for an ICS PTSA account if you do not already have one and then log-on to your account. This can be done on the ICS
PTSA Website

Please sign up for no more than three areas. A list of ICS Committees and their descriptions can also be found there. Returning parents: please complete the interest list even if you did so last fall; we create new volunteer lists each year with current information and preferences.

Please remember that, as an ICS family, you have committed to 30 hours of volunteer time per year. All families, especially those new to ICS, should be sure to review our Volunteering RequirementsThis document will provide you with some background information and answer many common questions about volunteering.

The Volunteer Opportunity list will close on Friday, September 29th, and, after that, you will need to contact the committee chairs directly to volunteer. Please get an early start on your volunteer hours, as it is very frustrating to be "short" on hours at the end of the school year. Have fun volunteering and getting to know what ICS is all about! If you have any questions, please contact Julie Kotler  Volunteer Coordinator.

Site Clean-Up Work Party
As part of the community and volunteer commitment at ICS, we offer three times a year for you to join us for a site  clean-up work party. Our first site clean-up date is scheduled for Saturday, October 7th from 9:00am  12:00pm. Participation is open to all family members middle-school aged and older. All hours worked count towards the 30-hour annual minimum family goal (this is one of the only ways that student hours count towards the goal, if the student attends with their parent).

Additional details:
  • The work party takes place rain or shine, please dress weather-appropriately
  • Work gloves/garden gloves are highly recommended
  • No tools are provided, so you must bring your own
  • We are in great need of a pickup truck or two to help collect yard waste bags and distribute mulch
Duties will primarily be focused on weeding and laying mulch, recommended tools include:
  • Hand weeding tools (hand shovels, digging tools, hula hoe, etc...)
  • Shovels and/or mulch forks
  • Rakes
  • Wheelbarrows
  • Large plastic tubs
  • Refreshments will be provided
Here is the link to the sign-up page: ICS Site Clean-Up Work Party
