Who are you going to call?
Dear Members,
Much is stated about community and economic development in organizations surrounding the Chamber. While serving as your Director of the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, I feel we are moving forward together to achieve this.
Community development is working together to solve community issues which are different in every city and town. As I hear how some of the wealthiest states in the nation have their respective drug problems, I reflect on our issue of poverty here in Vicksburg. Who do you call to tackle this problem? On Halloween we might have called Ghostbusters - but it is us! Let us be the problem solvers with our knowledge, influence, and resources to help alleviate community issues. One like issue last week was an organized discussion by your Chamber members to tackle the need for housing in Warren County for the projected new workforce at the Engineering and Research Center (ERDC). New engineers, scientists, and information technology professionals will come to work in Vicksburg from all across the United States. We want them to live in Vicksburg, MS.
So, as we begin November, a month in which to celebrate Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for you, our chamber members. I appreciate your willingness to step forward to participate, by using your knowledge, influence, and resources to improve the quality of life for
all citizens. Thank you for your generosity and your gifts!
Jane Flowers,
Director
Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce
