IS SENDING HUMANS TO MARS A GOOD USE OF RESOURCES?

While arguably one of the most expensive ventures of its time, sending men to the moon resulted in many tech advances that have benefitted humankind. Putting aside the sheer audacity of the idea, would going to Mars yield similar or greater discoveries that could lead to solving world problems right here? One of the arguments against it is that there are plenty of Earth problems that the money would be better spent on.

What do you think about the idea of colonizing Mars?
What challenges have to be overcome that might directly help humans on Earth?
Will there be unforeseen benefits that outweigh the cost?

And don't forget to visit LabNation. After all, they did part with some hard earned cash just to bring this all to you!

That's it, Enjoy!
