REMINDER ON CELL PHONE POLICY
Cell Phone Use During a Crisis Can Create Less Safe School Emergency Response
In terms of school safety, cell phones have been used by students in a number of cases nationwide for calling in bomb threats to schools. In far too many cases, these threats have been difficult or impossible to trace since they have been made by cell phones. The use of cell phones by students during a bomb threat, and specifically in the presence of an actual explosive device, also may present some risk for potentially detonating the device as public safety officials typically advise school officials not to use cell phones, two-way radios, or similar communications devices during such threats.

J-Term Registration: Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors
In January, during Catholic Schools Week, Camden Catholic will incorporate a new program into the Leadership Academy, and the regular curriculum--J-Term: Irish Immersion.   J-Term, short for January Term , will take place over three days in January (1/29-1/31), immediately after first semester exams and before second semester begins. You received a letter about this in the August mailing.

Registration began on September 14 and will run through September 28. Please encourage your student to visit the registration page and complete the process as soon as possible. Links to additional information, course listings and registration form available here: http://www.camdencatholic.org/j-term-2017/

From the Office of Student Affairs:
Attendance:  As the Principal noted at Back to School Night, regular attendance is so important. Please be advised that students whose absences are excessive will receive failing grades in each of his/her courses for the current semester.  A student who is absent ten (10) days in one semester without providing acceptable verification of those days will receive a grade of 65 for each course.  Each additional absence will result in a further deduction of 5 points for the semester.  Examples of acceptable verification of absence are doctor's note for illness, court documents for legal appointments, funeral card or obituary for bereavement days, and official college notes for college visits.
