5 days until the  F u n
R u n !!

Walnut Grove's 7th annual Fun Run is this Friday, September 29th. Pledge packets went home on Friday and are due back, without any money, on Wednesday, September 27th. Kids can drop them into the green basket inside their classroom where they'll be collected by the Fun Run Committee.  Money will not be due until after the Fun Run.

On the morning of the run, kids will be given their Fun Run t-shirt in the classroom so please dress your child in appropriate running clothes and shoes.  The run times are as follows:

Kindergarten & 3rd Grade: 9:20-9:50
1st & 4th Grade: 10:05-10:35
2nd & 5th Grade: 10:50-11:20

We welcome you to come cheer on your Roadrunners on this colorful, community-building fundraising event!

We're still looking for volunteers to help out on the day of the event so head on over to the Sign Up Genius if you are a cleared volunteer and would like to help. Thank you to all of our fantastic Roadrunner families for making it happen.

Roadrunners Supporting Texas

A couple of our fabulous leadership kids made a great video for everyone to see about our fundraising efforts for a school district in Rockport, Texas! Please take a moment to check it out here.

Also, join us in the chill zone right after school on Wednesday, September 27th for a Bake Sale. We will be out selling baked goods and treats, with all proceeds going to Rockport to help repair their schools that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Harvey. If you would like to help out or donate items for the sale, please contact [email protected]

There is also a donation collection jar in the office. We encourage kids to get involved at home and find creative ways to raise money for this very worthy cause.

We can all make a difference if we work together!

Monster Mash

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 27th from 5:00-8:00pm for the 3rd Annual Monster Mash !  This year will be bigger and better than ever!  The event will be outside with tented carnival games, an old fashioned cake walk, food, cotton candy, popcorn, Cool Beads Ice Cream (like Dippin Dots), a DJ, an inflatable slide, face painting and more!

You won't want to miss this fun event!! If you would like to help coordinate the food service or the cake walk, or just volunteer to help out at the event, please contact Margo Shimy or Stephanie Schieder.

There is no cost for entry to this event, or to play games, but 100% of the proceeds for the purchase of Cool Beads Ice Cream, cotton candy, popcorn and the cake walk will go directly to the Rockport Hurricane Relief fund.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts Pack 910 is offering a new rank for Kindergarteners!

The new Lion rank is an opportunity for your Kindergarten-aged son to participate in all the fun things Scouts do - campouts, building projects, pinewood derby car races, skits, outdoor skill building, and a whole lot more.  In recent years we've slept aboard the tall ship Balclutha and the U.S.S Hornet, camped at Pinnacles National Monument, built go-karts and catapults, carried out cleanup projects in our community, and learned about citizenship and history.

If you're interested in learning more, please fill out the interest form: Cub Scout Form
