Hello Chamber Members,
The Chamber's Annual Total Resource Campaign Campaign Chairman Marty Gibson is leading the way to meet our $65,000 goal which will be a large portion of our 2017 budget. He announced today at the Rewards Lunch with the volunteers that we are at $46,685 half way into the campaign. The Chamber has developed affordable sponsor opportunities for our members to get and keep your name in front of the Chamber business community. The more times your name is in front of the public, the more likely they will remember your business when they need a product or service. Call the office (859-236-2361, ext.. 120) if you haven't been contacted by a volunteer and are interested in learning about sponsorship opportunities.
During this campaign, volunteers also conduct a membership drive and invite businesses not currently supporting the Chamber's work in our community, a chance to do so.
This week's top producing volunteers are Rhonda Gilliam, Community Trust Bank (two weeks in a row), Ann T. Smith, Centre College, and Rebecca Rowe, Ephraim McDowell Health. All three received checks for their work.
The Chamber of Commerce and the Heart of Danville are putting on an Entrepreneur Panel today over lunch. See the note below and join us.

The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce recently held three Candidate Forums for those running for local elective office in Danville, Junction City and Perryville. Sponsored by Bluegrass Community Bank, and aired lived by Hometown Radio's WHIR 630 and 1230 AM, these forums help educate voters on the issues and where each candidate stands on them. All three were moderated by John Nelson, Editor Emeritus of the Advocate Messenger, and all three can be heard on www.hometownlive.net, under podcasts/replays. Board member Rick Waldon, owner of Paps Foods and who serves as the Chamber's Public Policy chairperson, coordinated the events.
Coverage by the Advocate Messenger captured all three forums and can be read here:
