Medication at School
If your child requires any medication at school, prescribed and/or over-the-counter, authorization from your child's health care provider is required. Forms may be printed from the district website
here.
If you received new forms in the mail in June 2017 and you have not brought your completed paperwork and medications to the school office, please do so immediately. Medications should expire in June 2018 or later.
If your child no longer requires medication at school, please indicate so in writing
to Nancy McMahon, Health Services Assistant here.
Smarter Balanced Student Score Reports
Families of fourth through eight graders will be receiving
Smarter Balanced Student Score Reports within the next two weeks
.
These Score Reports provide information on how your child performed against the California Common Core Standards.
The Educational Testing Services (ETS) alerted all school districts that there was an
error
on some of the reports. As a result, MPCSD delayed mailing the reports until we had the complete details. MPCSD discovered a minor text error affecting only reports of scaled scores or performance bands, and we will be sending all reports, even those containing the text error. ETS is reprinting and we will send corrected reports to impacted families as soon as we receive them. View examples of the report here
and explanations
here.

FIVE DAYS REMAIN in the 2017-
2018 Hillview PTO campaign. Thanks to 54% of Hillview families we are at 77% of our fundraising goal.
Things like well-supplied classrooms, lunchtime clubs, and the MPCSD speaker series are made possible by your donations. If you haven't already, please donate to the PTO here by September 29 to support the activities and programs that help make Hillview so special.
Our partner organization is Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation,
which provides vital funding to increase the per-pupil spending in our District. When you support the MPAEF, you are putting more teachers in our schools both in the classroom and in specialized areas such as art, music, drama, library and science. Make your commitment to the MPAEF by November 3 here.
The PTO and MPAEF are working together to make the best schools it can be for our kids. Thank you for your support of both organizations.
|
Hillview students
are encouraged to wear orange on Friday, September 29 to celebrate the end of the PTO campaign.
Hillview parents,
you can match their spirit and express your support with a
donation
! Many thanks for your community spirit!

The 2017-18 Online Directory is here!
We have moved to an all-new, stand-alone version of the online directory this year. It's available
here.
To access the directory for the first time, please use your District email to sign in. You'll receive a confirmation link that will allow you to create a new password for your directory account. Because your directory account is independent from your district account, it requires a separate login. The directory allows you to search by student or parent/guardian names and to view class lists. It's mobile friendly so you can add its icon to your iOS and Android home screens.
If you have trouble accessing the directory, see information that needs to be corrected, or have suggestions and/or feedback, send email
here.
MPCSD Facebook Page is Live!
Check out our newly updated district Facebook page
here
. Like us and share your stories! Let's get social and tell the story of our wonderful community-funded district together. #goMPCSD!

MPAEF Spring Auction Party Change of Date
Mark your calendar for the MPAEF Auction Party, Saturday, March 10, 2018.
Thank you to all the families who came to the New Family Social and for making it such a fun afternoon. We are very happy to welcome you to our amazing school district! We will share pictures of all the fun times soon!
2 EASY Ways to Earn Free $$$ For Our Schools!
1) Grow Your Impact Local Business Challenge To encourage families to Grow Your Impact by increasing your donation to MPAEF, local business partners will contribute $5k to the MPAEF Annual Parent Campaign for each percentage point of growth we achieve. So if we can increase our donations 5% over last year we will earn an extra $25k for our schools! Our local businesses are excited about partnering with MPAEF and with YOU, our parent community, and they understand that a strong community begins with strong schools. Let's show them we are up to the challenge!
And remember that Employer Matching
is
free money
to our schools and is included in your familie's overall total donation recognition. Please let us know if you have any questions or need help navigating the
employer match process
.
A huge thank you to these local businesses who have donated to the Grow Your Impact Local Business Challenge!
BKG Construction, Alain Pinel Realtors, Marc Bryman, CKA Architects, Keith Willig Landscaping, Lindsey Martin Interior Design, Rebuild Green, Sullivan Design Studio, Velo Fix, Young and Burton, inc.
2) Buy Your Kids' Halloween Costumes
It's not a trick but it is a treat! Buy costumes this year while
also giving money back to your school!
The MPAEF has partnered with retailers such as
Halloween Express, BuyCostumes.com, Halloween Mart and Target
to bring you a wide selection of awesome kids and adult costumes, while also giving back up to 5% of all purchases to the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation to support our schools. It's
free money
on products you would buy anyway. Please visit here
to reach the retailer of your choice. The only spooky detail is that you need to use this link to get the 5% back, going direct to the site will not reward us. Thanks for shopping at your favorite places while also doing good for our kids!
