While at the Cossitt Parent Social, sign up for the s
ocial fundraisers being sponsored by Cossitt families through out the year.  The social fundraisers provide opportunities to meet new people and have fun in smaller settings.  Thanks to the generosity of the sponsoring families, all proceeds from the social fundraisers go straight to the PTC.

Sign-ups for the social fundraisers start at 8:15.  Many events will have a limited number of spots and some will sell-out.  All social fundraisers with open spots after the parent social will be advertised in the following Friday folder.

5th-6th Grades Author Visit
Jordan Sonnenblick

Cossitt School's LRC is excited to welcome author Jordan Sonnenblick on Tuesday, September 26th. Mr. Sonnenblick will talk with FIFTH and SIXTH grade students about his career and his new book The Secret Sheriff of Sixth Grade, which is dedicated to former Cossitt student Jack Kunkle who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2014.

To guarantee a personalized copy of his book, please return the order form with payment (cash or check payable to Cossitt PTC) by Tuesday, September 26th. If you miss that date, there will be a limited supply of signed books available for purchase through Tuesday, October 3rd.  Click on the link below for the order form.

Cossitt Playground
The Cossitt playground has unfortunately seen an increase in use and abuse by non-students, during non-school hours, despite locked gates. School officials are working with the Village of LaGrange and LaGrange Police to improve this situation.

We also need your help! If you see inappropriate or suspicious activity on the playground during non-school hours, please call the LaGrange Police at it's non-emergency phone number of 708-579-2333. This will help the Police address and track the issues. Additionally, please advise your kids, friends and neighbors (especially any older children who want to harken back to their Cossitt days), to please respect the property and the gates when locked, and know that the Police will be patrolling the area.
Finding Kind
Park Jr. High will host Finding Kind screening and discussion on  Wednesday, October 4 6-8pm.  The program is open to all parents and girls ages 10 & up.  (Please note, the date was previously listed incorrectly as October 1).

Kind Campaign is an internationally recognized, non-profit organization that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying. Click Finding Kind if you are interested in learning more about the upcoming event at Park Junior High.
Thank you
Thank you to Cossitt parent and Clothing Sale Committee Member Diana Villanueva for graciously printing promotional signs and flyers for our Fall Clothing Sale FREE of charge! We appreciate her support of our school's biggest fundraiser.
