This year in our annual High Holy Day food drive for The Greater Boston Food Bank, we collected 8,369 pounds of food, which is equivalent to 6,997 meals for those in need. Thank you to all who were able to contribute to this great cause.

What is the Quintessential Symbol of the Jewish People? with Misha Clebaner, Rabbinical Student
November 3, 10, 17, December 1, 8; Course Fee: $75 for Members/$125 for Non-Members
The Star of David had a meteoric ascent to its place atop the Jewish symbolism pantheon. Yet there have been other symbols for our people throughout history, such as the menorah, the well-spring, and the mountain. In this class we will be exploring how different Jewish themes and values are manifested in these various symbols. Register.

Calling Out From The Depths: Jewish Approaches To The Psalms
with Rabbi Or Rose, Director of Miller Center for lnterreligious Learning & Leadership at Hebrew College

New Exhibit in the Wyner Museum
We are excited to tell you about a new exhibit this fall in the Wyner Museum we're calling:  "Mah Norah Ha-Makom Ha-zeh!" - or "How Awesome Is This Place!"
 
We are delighted that the Wyner Museum's "How Awesome is this Place" exhibit opened during the High Holy Days! We hope you'll come by to see the lovely photos of your fellow temple members, and read their moving stories!

Buckle Farm Winter CSA
Saturdays at the Egleston Square Farmers Market from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
With the summer CSA coming to a close we are excited to open the Winter CSA sign-ups. The winter CSA is 10-weeks long, starting on November 19  with a box of ingredients for your Thanksgiving meal! The share will include things like root vegetables, salad greens, radishes, kale, squash, and other seasonal surprises. You  can sign up by visiting the Buckle Farm website, or by visiting Farmer Jim at the Tuesday afternoon CSA pick-up at Temple Israel. The cost of the winter CSA is $300, which can be paid with cash, check, or credit card.

"The Vienna Project: Building Inclusive Communities"
The Cambridge Public Library

Karen Frostig, Director, Producer, and lead Artist for "The Vienna Project" is the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, granddaughter of Holocaust victims, and holds dual citizenship with the United States and the Republic of Austria. Program moderator Alice Wolf was born in Vienna. An active leader in the City of Cambridge, she is the former Mayor of Cambridge (1990-1991), and represented Cambridge in the House of Representatives (1997-2013). Discussant Brian Corr is the Executive Director of the Cambridge Peace Commission since 2008. The program is generously funded by the Cambridge Arts Council and Massachusetts Cultural Council; for additional information, please contact  Karen.  

Mobilizing for a Shared Society Concert and Conversation
