Our society molds our lives and decisions without us even thinking about why. In a field where we encourage people to make changes in their lives toward more sustainable choices, what can we do to make turning off the lights, bringing reusable bags to the grocery and recycling a social norm?

Dining and Hospitality Services earns seafood certification |
UCCS recently became the first university in Colorado, and one of 15 institutions of higher education in North America, to lead the way in committing to serving Marine Stewardship Council certified seafood in its dining centers.

New Environmental Studies & Sustainability Course |
This fall, UCCS offered an exciting new course taught by Dr. David Havlick. Environmental Studies & Sustainability (GES 1500) is the introductory course in environmental sustainability offered through the Geography and Environmental Studies department. The Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center recently was awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification.

This is the maxim of Dominic Frongillo, environmental activist and five-time delegate to the United Nations. Frongillo recently shared his experiences on building better communities at the 2016 Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) annual conference.
