Our annual Member Meeting will be during November's Open Media Lab. OMF and DOM staff will be on hand to gather your suggestions for the future of DOM. Did we mention food and drinks? We'll see you there!

Reservation Tips
Reminder to all members to reserve equipment far in advance to ensure gear will be available for your next shoot. Also remember not to make back-to-back reservations as this may cause your second reservation to be canceled.

It is important that all members have equal opportunity to access equipment, so DOM must limit member usage of gear to ensure this.

When making a reservation online, using the boxed teal calendar selection tool is preferred to the date selection on the righthand side of the reservation page.

Letter from the Executive Director | We're Hiring!
When a small group of us started OMF over a dozen years ago, none of us set out to be managers. In fact, we started as a collective. No one had a title or received a salary. We shared the resources of the collective and donated 10% of any revenues we generated to the nonprofit. We were so small and spent so much time together (often sleeping at our first workplaces) that it was easy to stay aligned.

Eventually the Board and I decided that to fulfill our mission at any scale, we'd have to take a more traditional approach. We implemented salaries and titles, and a decade later we have a staff of 20+ and an annual budget over $2 million. The organization is at a size that we need a true manager involved, and today we are excited to announce that OMF is hiring a new Director of Operations or COO.

We're seeking a leader who is passionate about the mission and vision of OMF and has a proven track record of shepherding organizational success through data-driven decision making and a diligent evaluation of progress towards shared goals. We're also looking for an individual with the HR experience to help maintain the core values that have enabled our past growth, while positioning us to make the most of the huge opportunities we face today.

If you know of anyone who might make a good candidate for this position, please steer them to the job description on the OMF website and help us spread the word!
