AHLERS AEROSPACE has been selected by MD Helicopters as the supplier of the engine power out monitor (EPO) for the 369E, 369FF and the 500N. Ahlers designs and manufactures new instruments and electronic devices for the aviation industry. Ahlers also is a certified repair station for instruments and accessories.
ARINC DIRECT announced it has released a major upgrade to its iPad flight planning application. Version 2.3 introduces several new features that make it possible for flight planning subscribers to implement a paperless cockpit environment.
FREEFLIGHT SYSTEMS and Chevron Corp. announced that FreeFlight Systems has received an STC for the first fully rule-compliant ADS-B solution for Gulf of Mexico helicopter operators.

RICK GARCIA, president of GULF COAST AVIONICS CORP. announced the official opening of the Lakeland Aero Club at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, the home of the Sun 'n Fun annual Fly-In. The Lakeland Aero Club is a collaborative effort of professional aviators, pilots and aviation students with one common goal, to advance flight education.
GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP. announced it recently received approval from the FAA and EASA to retrofit Gulfstream GV, GIV, GIV-SP, G400 and G300 aircraft with the cockpit upgrade known as PlaneDeck.

The Alliance for Aviation Across America launched a wide-scale economic impact survey to outline the benefit of general aviation on businesses, local economies and communities around the nation. AEA Wired will highlight a different state each issue:

General Aviation Caucuses were formed in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate in 2009, to inform members and staff about the importance of GA to the nation's economy and transportation system. Part 1 - How to CommentPart 1 - Review of the FAA Part 145 NPRM On June 19, the National Transportation Safety Board issued a safety alert to warn pilots that the age indicator of weather radar images displayed in the cockpit can be misleading. The safety alert warns that the actual age of the displayed data may be as much as 15 to 20 minutes old, potentially causing serious safety hazards to aircraft operating near fast-moving weather systems.
