AEM CORP. announced it has received approval of its application for registration in the controlled goods program. Registration approval was received on Dec, 21, following a three-month application and approval process. 

 
AVIDYNE CORP. announced it has received technical standard order and supplemental type certificate approval of the DFC90 autopilot for Entegra-equipped Piper PA-46 Matrix and Mirage aircraft, as well as TSO and STC approval of the DFC100 autopilot for Release 9 (R9)-equipped Piper PA-46 Matrix aircraft.

 

Capping a 14-year production run, the last super mid-size GULFSTREAM G200 business jet, the 250th, has rolled off the production line in Dallas. It will be replaced in the Gulfstream fleet by the all-new large-cabin, mid-range Gulfstream G280, which is scheduled to enter service in the first part of 2012.


LATITUDE TECHNOLOGIES CORP. announced it was selected by Iridium as an LBS preferred portal provider of the new Iridium Extreme handset.

A State-by-State Economic Impact Survey 

  

The Alliance for Aviation Across America recently launched a wide-scale economic impact survey to outline the benefit of general aviation on businesses, local economies and communities around the nation. AEA Wired will highlight a different state each issue:

Econ. Impact: $8 Billion

AEA Says Proposed Database Updates Compromises Maintenance Regs

The Federal Aviation Administration proposes to amend the maintenance regulations by removing from the preventive maintenance category the task of updating databases used in self-contained, front-panel or pedestal-mounted navigation equipment. This change would allow pilots who operate certificated aircraft to update the specified databases and eliminate the requirement for certificated mechanics or repair stations to perform the update.
