ASPEN AVIONICS announced the approval of two additional EASA STCs for the Evolution Primary Flight Display system. AVIONIK STRAUBING of Germany has developed an STC for the Beechcraft Bonanza 33, 35 and 36 series aircraft and RUAG SCHWEIZ A.G. of Switzerland has developed an STC for the Pilatus PC-6 series aircraft.


CARLISLE INTERCONNECT TECHNOLOGIES recently received its 100th FAA Supplemental Type Certificate and its 13th STC related to the installation of electronic flight bags. The STC approves the installation of three configurations of a Class 3 EFB for use on the B737NG Series aircraft.


COMLUX AVIATION SERVICES LLC, The Aviation Group, announced the retirement of GORDON MILLER, program manager, after 36 years of dedicated service and the promotion of GARY NEWPORT to the program manager position.


EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY's former president JACK HUNT was inducted into the Florida Aviation Hall of Fame at the Florida Air Museum at the Sun 'n Fun Air Show.


PROFESSIONAL AIRCRAFT ACCESSORIES, a Greenwich AeroGroup Company, announced they are expanding capabilities and their facility in Titusville, Fla. The 20,000 square-foot expansion, which is expected to take approximately six months to complete, will accommodate the growth of the company's landing gear service area, accessory shop, instrument and avionics lab, as well as an expanded machine shop and paint shop.

Report Confirms Cell Phone Network Could Shut Down GPS Devices

The Washington Post reports that a report delivered Friday, June 3, to the FAA, but not yet publicly released, says deployment of LightSquared's new network could effectively shut down GPS devices.  The report, according to the article, puts the Obama Administration in a difficult position because while it has promised to make broadband available to all Americans, it also has pushed airlines to invest billions of dollars installing GPS equipment. Textron Chairman and CEO Scott Donnelly announced the appointment of GE Aviation executive Scott Ernest as president and CEO of Cessna Aircraft, replacing Jack Pelton who retired suddenly in May.

Attendees will learn the proper methods for conducting pitot/static and transponder certification testing. This full-day course offers hands-on training, including a regulatory review and an explanation of the proper administrative procedures for completing these critical certifications.
