ASPEN AVIONICS announced the STC approval of Connected Pilot, the first in the series of the company's revolutionary Connected Panel product line that provides a wireless link between certified instrument panel avionics and portable smart devices.
JETTECH announced the issuance of an FAA STC for installing the new touchscreen Garmin GTN 650/750 nav/comm/GPS on Cessna Citation 500 series aircraft to include models 500, 501, 550, 551, S550 and 560.
L-3 announced the FAA has granted its Avionics Systems business a TSO for the GH-3900 electronic standby instrument system. The GH-3900 has been selected by several OEMs as standard equipment aboard such aircraft as the LearJet 70/75 series, the Cessna Citation Ten and the Embraer KC-390. Additionally, Rockwell Collins has selected the GH-3900 ESIS for its Pro Line Fusion Flight Deck, which will be supplied to multiple new aircraft platforms and customers.
MAXCRAFT AVIONICS LTD. announced it has received Transport Canada STC SH12-43 for installation of the Garmin G500H Flight Display System in Eurocopter AS355 models E, F, F1, F2, N and NP rotorcraft.

The Alliance for Aviation Across America launched a wide-scale economic impact survey to outline the benefit of general aviation on businesses, local economies and communities around the nation. AEA Wired will highlight a different state each issue:

On Friday, Aug. 17, the FAA announced an extension of the comment period for its notice of proposed rulemaking that was published on May 21, which is a proposed rewrite of Part 145.
