ASPEN AVIONICS announced that Connected Panel will be compatible with the Garmin GNS 400W/500W series navigators when Connected Panel is released at the end of the year. With this new capability, Connected Panel Enabled applications will be able to synchronize and cross-fill flight plan data from the Apple iPad to the Garmin GNS navigators.
GARMIN INTERNATIONAL INC. announced new autopilot interfaces for the G600 and G500 flight displays, providing compatibility with the S-TEC DFCS autopilot and gyro emulation for the Century autopilot.
PRO STAR AVIATION LLC received FAA supplemental type certification ST00314BO for the installation of the Garmin GMX-200 multi-function display and optional GDL-69 XM satellite weather receiver for the Cessna 560 Excel and 560XLS platforms.
UNIVERSAL AVIONICS announced FIELD AVIATION and HAWKER PACIFIC as its 2011 Top Dealer award recipients. The presentation and awards ceremony will occur at the National Business Aviation Association annual Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nev.
WEST STAR AVIATION INC. announced JEFF MESSMER has been appointed operations manager at its newest facility at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, Mo.
WESTERN AIRCRAFT recently completed an installation of the Garmin GTN 650 and GTN 750 Nav/Comm/GPS system along with the Garmin remote audio panel, remote transponder and GDL-69A XM weather receiver on a Pilatus PC-12.

"Take User Fees Off the Table"
Kevin Mossey of Marian, Iowa, a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assocation, utilized a new process recently announced by the White House that allows citizens to petition the White House on a specific issue. The petition Mossey offered is titled, "Take User Fees Off the Table," and if it is able to generate 5,000 signatures within 30 days, "the White House staff will review it, ensure it's sent to the appropriate policy experts and issue an official response." AEA Joins Aviation Coalition in Letter Opposing User Fees
In a letter sent Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 21, to members of the U. S. Congress Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction and both House and Senate leaders, the Aircraft Electronics Association, along with 26 other aviation associations and labor organizations representing virtually all segments of the commercial and general aviation industries, expressed their united opposition to the White House's latest plan for economic growth and deficit reduction.
