Giving Tuesday, November 29
This year, the College will be taking part in #GivingTuesday, a global day of charitable giving powered by social media and volunteer leadership. Giving Tuesday takes place after Thanksgiving, after the shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The College will be asking alumni, faculty, staff and students to help support the Educational Foundation by making a donation during this 24-hour period.

Donations support the College's 50th anniversary campaign, so we hope we can count on your participation on Tuesday, November 29. Look for reminders and more information throughout the month. Donations are accepted online via PayPal at www.dccc.edu/makeagift or you can contact the Alumni Office for more details.
Connections

Social Media has connected us all around the world in a variety of previously unanticipated ways. Police departments are turning to Facebook and Twitter to communicate better with their citizens while sharing important updates at the same time.

A good example of this is being practiced by Sgt. William Hickey '97 of the Lancaster City (PA) Police Department. Whether sharing statistics or posting humorous GIFs, Sgt. Hickey has become a great model of a police officer in the age of social media. We hope you enjoy his story and consider following his department's activities on their Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram accounts.
