National champs!
Congratulations to the Hales Corners Lutheran School, Hales Corners, WI, fifth through eighth grade girls' cross country team! They won the 2016 National Championship this past weekend! This cross-country team has now won back-to-back State and National Championships. Congratulations to the lady Wildcats!

Eye Care
Productive eyeglass case sewing venture with Ascension of Christ Lutheran Church, Beverly Hills, MI and American Sewing Guild members. They completed 75 cases and 33 more are almost finished for a grand total of 108! The cases will be delivered to MOST Ministries in Ann Arbor.

Epic's ServeLocal Team is sharing the love of Christ in a practical way with their neighbors.

Travel made easier
Pastor Haberkost and Executive Director Steve Tschiegg presented Missions Coordinator Dr. Elizabeth Schnabel with a check for $7524, raised by Prince of Peace, Medina, OH. The money raised will help an LCMS pastor in Kenya purchase a car, as he serves many parishes and has to travel by foot. This car will help him spread God's love to many more people in Kenya.

Sharing warmth
The quilters have been busy at Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park, IL. As they strive to love their neighbors, their attention goes to their neighbors in distress where a warm, homemade quilt says "you are loved" better than just about anything else. Five to six dedicated ladies meet every Thursday at Trinity to work on making quilts. Through their own gifts and an occasional door offering, they purchased the supplies and produced almost 90 quilts this year to ship all over the world. Pews were covered with the quilts on the Sunday they were dedicated and shipped off to warm a stranger in a distant land.

The congregation at Grace Lutheran Church, Wyoming, MI, showed their appreciation of Rev. John and Marcia Diener with a potluck dinner.

This year for Pastor Appreciation month, the wall in front of Pastor Bernau's office has been filling up with notes of thanks from his "flock" at Hope Lutheran, Hastings, MN. His favorite is someone who colored a "black sheep" and wrote "thanks for including me." Pastor says, "Thank you, people of Hope, for filling this pastor's heart with words of joy and encouragement!"
